Programme description
Most adult beginners arrive at ballet with two things: enthusiasm and a vague memory of watching Swan Lake as a child. Both are fine starting points. What this course builds on top of that is actual technique — the kind that takes time, repetition, and a willingness to look slightly awkward for several weeks before things start to click.
Classes run for 90 minutes each session and cover barre work, centre exercises, and basic port de bras. Expect to spend a lot of time on turnout, posture, and the five positions before anything resembling choreography appears.
Who this is for
Adults with no prior ballet training, or those returning after a gap of more than five years. Flexibility is not a prerequisite — coordination is more useful at this stage anyway.
- No prior dance experience required
- Small class sizes, maximum 10 students
- Ballet flats only — no pointe work at this level
- Weekly feedback included
